(a toilet plunger must always be on hand to unclog the toilet if need be)
(the plunger forces air into the drain to loosen the clog)
(patrick clogged the toilet and there was no plunger on hand)
(even when we borrowed plunger from old foreign lady upstairs it didn’t work)
(jon got a plunger from officeguys)
(though patrick offered to buy plunger)
(when no plunger is on hand:)
(squirt generous amounts of dish soap or shampoo into clogged toilet)
(add a gallon of very hot (but not boiling) water to the bowl)
(wait a few minutes and watch)
(the water should break up the toilet paper)
(the soap should help it slide down the pipe)
