(i hope this isn’t becoming a “mental block”)
(a “self-fulfilling prophecy” like my “baseball throwing” episode)
(i broke 2 strings yesterday)
(A string and G string)
(after changing them that day!)
(fucking A!)
(and i can’t afford replacement strings at the moment)
(so now i have to sloppily start the day with a D string being used for A string)
(and that same makeshift B string being used for G string)
(which means it is probably impossible for the guitar to stay in tune)
(which drastically affects the performance)
(but i need to make it work somehow)
(it kills impression in eyes of people who see me play there everyday)
(at least make $4 at 7th avenue station to replace the two strings)
(then you can be on your merry way)
(you can probably get by with $3.50)
(is it better to just try playing without those strings?)
(it isn’t a “mental block” because i’m not worried about strings breaking when they do)
(more often than not i’m “in the zone”)
(and it ends up sabotaging what would’ve been my best performance of the day)

(improperly replacing one string probably means that another string is more likely to break with subsequent strums)

*7 MAY 2017* –>
(i’ve been breaking strings like crazy lately)
(especially the A string)
(snapped it last night)
(the 3rd time this week!)
(and that was after i broke all my G strings the day before)
(so i ended up putting a 16 gauge string for a 24 gauge string)
(and then a 12 gauge string for a 16 gauge string)
(which is a really sloppy fix)
(and on top of that i was forced to play without an A string until i could raise the $5.43 necesssary to buy a new pack)
(no small feat!)
i mostly recycled songs that seemed to stay relatively in tune:
“across the universe”
“mother nature’s son”
“don’t let me down”
“dead flowers”
“rocky raccoon”
“golden slumbers / carry that weight”
(“imagine” didn’t stay quite in tune)
(needed a D string)
(went to guitar center)
(the D string was selling for over $2)
(i didn’t have $2)
(the busty salesgirl @ “accessories” told me i could get 3 packs for $10)

(i think i mistakenly replaced the D string with an A string)
(but i soldiered on with the songs)
(the intonation is more fucked up now)
