arrived in NY penn station by train @ 2pm saturday afternoon…
cold snowy day…
busked outside the ACE downtown penn station stop to earn $2.50 to get on the subway…
it was very cold…
then i went to the brass feet “life underground” statue @ 14th + 8th uptown stop…earned my $15.50 to get back to the room…then i earned another $100+…gave up @ 7:30pm…regrouped and went back to 14th + 8th before 11pm…went back and forth between the uptown + downtown stops…kept missing fans…gave up after earning $16…
in summer 2014 i attempted to busk at a subway station near washington square park on the recommendation of a middle-aged man who had been listening to me play in the park…i didn’t play for very long and didn’t make any money…
the subway may be my best bet once it gets cold in NYC…
(but will anyone hear me over the trains?)
$2.75 to get on the subway
(save metrocard)
(up from $2.50)
.
“look out brooklyn!”
(would you look at that?)
(best way to earn money in NYC during the winter)
(for dope)
bring pack with peanut butter jar / water bottle / phone charger
water fountain / restroom / outlets in NJ transit waiting area
decorate cardboard box to collect tips / promote website / distribute music
(DON’T GO OUT DRINKING THAT NIGHT)
(hit up NYC contacts)
(but will anyone hear me over the trains?)
(and they end up blowing your tips away)
(i lost $10 once)
(at columbus circle)
(when my money bag blew onto the tracks)
(i shoulda jumped in and picked it up)
