(“beatles for sale” is the 4th studio album by english rock band ”the beatles’, released on ‘4 december 1964’ in the ‘united kingdom’ and produced by ‘george martin’ for ‘parlophone)’
(the ‘album’ marked a minor turning point in the evolution of the ‘lennon–mccartney’ partnership, ‘john lennon’ particularly now showing interest in composing songs of a more ‘autobiographical’ nature)
(“I’m a loser” shows ‘lennon’ for the first time coming under the influence of ”bob dylan’, whom he met in ‘new york’ while on tour on ’28 august 1964′)
(of course the ‘wiki editors’ just HAD TO find a way to mention ‘bob dylan’ in the ‘write-up’)
(“i’m a loser” is a really shitty song)
(it’s almost as terrible as the ever-grating-not-quite-saying anything of any worth “WORKING CLASS HERO”)
(“beatles for sale” did not produce a ‘single’ for the ‘UK’ – the non-album tracks “i feel fine” and “she’s a woman” performed that role)
(nevertheless, that coupling was followed up in the ‘united states’ by “8 days a week”, which became their 7th (!!!) ‘#1 song’ in ‘march 1965’)
(in ‘australia’, the only-ever non-original ‘beatles single’ (either side) went to #1: chuck berry’s “rock + roll music” backed with carl perkins’ “Honey, Don’t”, which held the summit for ‘4 weeks’)
(why are all these different ‘national branches’ of the record company messing around with the songs on the album?)
(that seemed to have continued until ‘magical mystery tour’)
(and put to rest for good with ‘the white album’)
(and even ‘sgt pepper’ before that)
(the album hit the UK ‘#1 spot’ and retained that position for ’11’ of the ’46’ weeks that it spent in the ‘Top 20’)
(how was this calculated?)
(who did the ‘calculating’?)
(was ‘payola” at work?)
(and if it was, who cares?)
(analogous to ‘performance-enhancing drug ban’ in ‘athletics’)
(this figures make it seem like you are ‘rooting’ for a ‘sports team’ and take pride in their ‘wins’)
(how ‘popular’ the song is should theoretically
(same as the ‘pity’ i feel for a girl will cause any ‘sexual attraction’ towards her to fade away…same goes for ‘women’ and men’…)
(in this case, the ‘unpopularity’ of a ‘recording artist’ could make you ‘feel sorry’ for the artist for not ‘getting his due’)
(analogous to the ‘girl/guy example’)
(just think of “commercial success” as “many wins”)
(“beatles for sale” did not surface as a regular album in the ‘US’ until ‘1987’)
(in its place was beatles ’65 which featured 8 songs from beatles for sale, plus the A and B-side of “i feel fine” and “i’ll be back” from the UK’s A Hard Day’s Night album)
(“beatles ’65” enjoyed a ‘9-week run’ at the top of the ‘US charts’ from ‘january 1965’ on)
