i judge people by their eye color. brown-eyed people (myself included) seem to be selfish assholes at the core. blue-eyed peeps seem more fundamentally kind.
just look at the family…
everyday is mother’s day in some part of the world or another…

remember thereβs diamonds in the rough
i just havenβt found mine
remember when you couldnβt get enough?
and we had a good time…
so whatever happened to the way?
the way, the way your hips would sway
i knew thereβd come a day again
for fate decreed there would be a day
i had to say something
so i said it in my convoluted way
itβs better than nothing
they tell me thereβs fortunes in the air
invisible to most
and often itβs those you thought would care
that treat you like a ghost
so whatever happened to the way?
the way, the way your hips would sway
i knew thereβd come a day again
you gotta wailo
just like me
over and out…
she got away-o
just like me-o
(whoever it is…)

written sometime around fall 2008
(began as an acappella melody floating in my head)
(as i waked and baked)
(melody got stuck in my head one cold stoned sunday morning as my did my laundry)
my βpianoβ song
soulful singing
nostalgia song
(about reconnecting with padua?)
(about my paul mccartney optimistic nature)
(trish riccio loves the song)
(as does izzy brereton)
(and my mother)
rejected by TAXI:
the loose feel has a ‘ raw’ appeal.. soulful vocal delivery. my favorite track of these three.. lyrics and melody, groove
i’d avoid using vocal layers on each song.
this one’s work re visiting in my view..
redo the electric guitar. lead vocal is emotional here. yet the performance is unevenβ¦
years later, i did rework the song and renamed it “point blank” with a simple outro for 2010 itunes album “virgin”
inspired by macca’s “how many million miles” when he adds an “o” to the end of “day”
