(“Bridges to Babylon” is the 21st British and 23rd American studio album by British rock band The Rolling Stones, released by ‘Virgin Records’ on 29 September 1997)

(it would prove to be the band’s final studio album of the 1990s and their last full-length release of new songs until 2005’s “A Bigger Bang”)

(released as a double album on vinyl and a single CD, the album was supported by the year-long worldwide “Bridges to Babylon Tour” that met with much success)

(“anybody seen my baby?” video featured a 22-year-old angelina jolie)
(and was unconsciously based on the melody of the 1992 KD lang song “constant craving”)
(keith richards said that his daughter angela was playing the record and started singing a different song over it)
(and he proactively gave kd lang and her songwriting partner ‘ben mink’ credit)
(and took it out of his share of songwriting credit instead of jagger’s since he wrote the melody)
(interesting)
(so KD lang wasn’t an asshole like tom petty going after younger artists who allegedly “copped their melodies”)

(i went with the kenwells to see the stones perform @ giants stadium)
(16 + 17 october  1997)
(thursday or friday?)

(beginning of eighth grade)
(i skipped out on gabby zini’s 13th birthday party to go to the show)

(the “foo fighters” were the opening act)
(i wasn’t very impressed then)
(the old man thought i was just being defensive)
(since i was deep in love with the beatles at the time)

(i didn’t get into the stones until my second year of high school)
(after listening to lots of classic rock radio)
(and buying “hot rocks” double CD set to listen to “sympathy for the devil”)

.

(it was my “weightlifting music” in ‘summer 1995’)
