“mark david chapman”

(born ‘1955’)

(murdered john lennon in 1980)
(at ‘age 35’)

mark david chapman was brainwashed by what i consider to be a very ‘rogue jewish’ book: “the catcher in the rye”.

the nihilistic/sarcastic outlook of jd salinger is ultimately redemptive: “nothing matters, everyone’s a ‘phony’, so let me rescue the children before they are permanently corrupted”.

holden caulfield as jesus christ.

i can dig this sentiment.

i’m a fan of not only salinger’s work, but also his way of life.

and chapman had all the necessary mental tools to stand out as an artist on his own.

he had the ‘henry dargeresque’ fantasy world goin’ on in his head where he ruled over his ‘little people’.

this is how some powerless people (including myself at times) cope with an uncaring world.

(same goes for ‘ace frehley’)

but he was too lazy+bitter to do anything with these fantasies. so his thoughts turned to destruction. it’s interesting to note that john lennon probably had a very similar mentality around 1970 when he broke up the beatles and released ‘plastic ono band’. except he murdered his former idols through song. and funnily enough, mark david chapman cited the song ‘God’ where he lambasts all his former heroes (‘don’t believe in god, don’t believe in jesus, don’t believe in zimmerman, don’t believe in beatles’) as incentive to murder lennon. but mark david chapman conveniently neglected the central message of the song: ‘I JUST BELIEVE IN ME”. he was too inherently weak to believe in himself. death to all mark david chapmans of the world.

also interesting to note how todd rundgren tried bringing down lennon through caustic interviews in the 70s. he labeled lennon an idiot during john’s ‘lost weekend’ phase. but he was no match for lennon’s wit (as evidenced in a priceless response letter sent to melody maker in which he rightly pointed out that lennon must represent some sort of father figure to todd).

now by the same token, paul must have represented a father figure to john. just listen to ‘how do you sleep?’ there’s no way that john could’ve released something that intentionally cruel without paul serving as some sort of authority figure in john’s head. it was paul’s superior musical instincts that john feared (just as paul admired john’s fearlessness). this combo is what made the beatles unbeatable…

we messianic outliers all have a mark david chapman waiting in the wings…

they’re former fans.

and ever the desperate attention-seekers, they usually go by three names:

(john wilkes booth…lee harvey oswald…mark david chapman…)

jesus had his judas
gandhi had his overzealous indian patriots
JFK had his confused communists
malcolm x had his bitter nation of islam goons
yitzhak rabin had his overzealous zionists

*and i have my overgrown fairy waiting in the wings*

once we fail to live up to their unreasonable expectations, they’ll begin to blame us for their own lack of success.

(then they pull the trigger and elevate us to ‘sainthood’…)
