there are 6 people living in the house:
2 tenants live in the basement and are equipped with their own entrances / kitchen / bathroom
(though i’m still unsure how the second tenant enters his abode as the entrance seems to be from our first floor hallway (unless he enters through the other basement tenant’s place))…which i later found out was the case
2 tenants (including I) reside on the first floor. we share a bathroom and we share the kitchen and common room with the other 2 tenants upstairs (who have their own bathroom)
the tenant downstairs is a year younger than i. his name is christopher bailey. he’s been here for over a year. he’s a fan of the grateful dead (as evidenced by the “bears” he decorated the basement kitchen window with) as well as a plethora of generic jam bands. he claims to play the guitar. he works at the ace hardware (as opposed to “houseware”) @ the princeton shopping center across the street.
there don’t seem to be newspapers delivered to the place. the only newspaper i’ve seen is a new york times dated “12 august 2012” (i moved in on 5 september 2012). i’ve been relying on this newspaper for “toilet literature” ever since…(as well as a “national geographic magazine” and local princetonian newspapers delivered for unfamilar names…ostensibly former tenants…)
christopher claimed that the guy who lived here before me moved to india (and left out three mattresses / bedsprings for delivery). a black man came on one of my first days here and quoted him $125 (his minimum) for pickup. though it seemed to me that a girl lived in this room (both because i saw a “leah” on the most recent utilities bill posted on the refrigerator and i found an errant hairband lying on the floor…) i later found out that the tenant in this room moved to india. maybe i should do the same…
as it were, both those characters lived in the adjacent basement…both basement rooms can be accessed via the first floor or via an outside door in the back of the house…the two basement tenants share a bathroom (which is currently overrun with mold) but have their own bedrooms and kitchens…nowadays, both basement tenants shower in our bathroom as there has been ongoing repairs to their shared bathroom…
there aren’t any stop & shops in princeton…bummer…
everywhere else i’ve lived there has been a stop & shop nearby…
there isn’t a washer nor dryer at the house (there were both in brick)…

so i slept in the unfurnished room wednesday night, dragging out a mattress from the back patio…mama would arrive with my belongings on friday morning…
i continued to drink…one night i took down too much vodka and walked around town with a ‘screwdriver’ (concealed in a tropicana bottle). i sent angry text messages to el madre, castigating her for claiming not to ‘have time’ to follow my youtube channel while spending evenings at giants games and gore vidal plays with her husband (o the utter irony!). she even delayed my move-in by a day because she had to ‘offer moral support’ to her own mother when she accompanied her to one of her infinite ‘doctor’s appointments’. i subsequently apologized the following morning (via voicemail + text). she didn’t respond in hours (although i called both her cell / home / business telephone lines). i even resorted to utilizing the “*67” ‘blocked number’ feature. i was starting to get really worried…and when i worry, i start to feel guilty….i wonder why i seem to always sabotage myself…the very DAY she was going to move in all my belongings, i go on a self-righteous rant…
she finally got back to me…she was “with a client”…which meant that she’d never back it to princeton by noon (as she’d originally promised)…she started talking about the ‘shit i get’ (ala an indignant fisher)…

16 april 2013:
mama came around noon today…she couldn’t find my sheet music / guitar tablature in the basement and didn’t have time to take my sweater / dress pants to the dry cleaners…she got me another mccaffrey’s / dunkin donuts card and i gave her two bags of laundry to do…we ate at “a taste for mexico”…the usual tortilla chips with salsa as an appetizer…i ordered nachos (without meat) for an appetizer and a beef burrito…as well as a coke and water…service was rather poor…and i wasn’t very hungry…didn’t end up eating most of the nachos so at least i’ll have leftovers…mama also bought me black dress shoes (deer stags), navy blue dress pants, and a white collared short-sleeved shirt (old navy)…she kept insisting i get a haircut @ the local “supercuts” (great clips?) but i declined…my hair is too fine for a low-budget haircut…
the police haven’t contacted me (yet)…it’s already past 4pm…eric paul is still gone…i have bad gas and a more severe cough…i’ve started on the 24-pack (slowly but surely)…AI sent me the copy of the press release to record labels via e-mail…my kickstarter project was approved (but i’ve gotta make some changes before i launch it)…
now there’s a paid service “cdbaby pro”…i don’t even use cdbaby anymore (and nobody downloads my songs from the site)…the only thing cdbaby is useful for is getting the albums up on itunes for me…
this day has pretty much been a wash…distracted by a raging libido for most of the day (though i managed to resist the urge to masturbate)…
“julie” won’t tell me her facebook name until i tell her mine…and even then i have the feeling she’ll flake on me…

about $240 left in the account…if i can complete 4 videos for AI in the next two weeks, i can manage to pay off the may rent…at the same time, this means not spending any money on alcohol (or dates for that matter)…and the utilities bill is going to bite me in the ass sooner or later…

SEPTEMBER 2012:
i moved out here after AI wired me a $2K advance for recording 10 songs from his “repraise” project (frank sinatra songs with christian lyrics). $200 a song seems like a reasonable rate. i’ve completed the basic tracks for 4 of the songs so far. with the $2K, i was able to rent a room for $595/month (plus a month-and-a-half security deposit). my mother drove me down to princeton on a wednesday morning and i took the second room that i looked at (forgetting my checkbook, i paid in cash). this caused a bit of a dilemma. i had recently called into bank of america to up my maximum daily withdrawal from $1K to $1500 but the ATM wouldn’t even allow me to take it out in two installments (the particular machine had its own limit for deposits. so even though i had an e-banking account (which doesn’t allow me to use live tellers), i was forced to get a teller to withdraw the money for me. after signing the 12-month lease, the owner explained that he needed a letter from an employer and a copy of my driver’s license before he’d give me a copy of the lease. i found this rather odd…i could understand that he wanted to know i was working so that the rent would be paid, but why a copy of my driver’s license? i don’t even drive anymore! i figured that the driver’s license would probably be used by him for legal purposes in case i flaked on the rent. and wasn’t i entitled to the copy of a document i already signed? i already didn’t like the dude…
