(born + bred as the last line of defense against japanese child prodigies that had infiltrated our boozy (all-)american ‘collective consciousness’, ‘JoGa’ was raised a ‘cutthroat capitalist’ in a land of ‘fat italians’ + ‘dumb angels’…(he’s even 25% italian himself)…

(setting up shop down the jersey shore (in the proto-guido era), he began self-producing + self-releasing several compact discs’ worth of his own inimitable brand of organized noise (supporting himself with research work for a 9/11 survivor with an addiction to lawsuits named ‘wacky kanacki’…)

he began as a man who thought he was a loner (but he knew that couldn’t last). so in lieu of california grass, he opted for a fifth-floor walk-up in the east village and began working with what was left of the NYC music scene in march 2007…

‘diamonds in the rough’ (2010)
(in ‘april 2009’, ‘JoGa’ was laid off from his back office job @ *’JP Morgan / ‘Chase’* (in the power trading division) + moved back to the ‘watchung basement’ (collecting ‘unemployment insurance’ from ‘new york state’))

(he set up a ‘basement studio’ + utilized ‘childhood artifacts’ to create an ideal visual space for ‘music production’…)

in ‘november 2010’. JoGa met emma wolin @ a rutgers open mic (“the laudromat”)…
emma was then a high school senior @ columbia high school…
(their romance + subsequent breakup is documented in his music of the era…)

in january 2012 JoGa was banned from the family estate after a confrontation with his old man:

after spending a week in somerset county jail on simple assault charges (subsequently dropped), JoGa spent a month living with his mother’s mother in fanwood NJ before relocating to his family’s estate on chadwick beach island until memorial day 2012…he subsequently rented a second-floor room in brick NJ

(in ‘september 2012’, JoGa moved to princeton after recording several tracks for his friend AI’s “repraise” project (sinatra songs from a christian perspective)…he found employment with princeton tutoring and began performing acoustically on the mean streets of ‘princeton’)

‘the negro leagues’ (spring 2014)
in february 2014 JoGa applied for rental assistance from princeton township…after moving into a house that was illegally offering to rent a basement, JoGa found himself holed up in lawrenceville’s mounts motel on route 1 for an extended stay

‘death of a bozo’ (summer 2014)
armed with a monthly bus pass courtesy of the state, JoGa began making weekly trips into new york city and busking in washington square park:

in fall 2014 JoGa met ‘arv’ on the 606 bus from palmer square to hamilton marketplace…arv was a 29-year-old drummer working at the princeton 30 burger and renting a room in hamilton NJ…they began performing as a duo shortly thereafter

‘everest’
*winter 2015*
in winter 2015 JoGa applied to princeton township for a one-year extension at the mounts motel (since he found it an ideal setting for music production). when it got too cold to continue performing outside frist campus center, JoGa began recording an album dedicated to everest goldstein (a princeton student he met in spring 2013)
