*’mackeeper’ is a ‘utility software suite’ for ‘mac OS X’ that has tools for ‘cleaning’ / ‘security’ / ‘optimization’*

.

(it is ‘heavily promoted’ and has been the subject of a ‘class-action lawsuit’ for ‘false advertising’)

(some reviewers say that ‘mackeeper’ ‘secures’ + ‘optimizes’ a system, while others say that ‘crash-prone macs’ can be ‘cured’ by removing ‘mackeeper’)

‘mackeeper’…

good?….

bad?…

“depends on perspective of user”?

Is MacKeeper Good or Bad?

So I was on my Macbook, and I was downloading a game and it was asking strange questions so I deleted it.

I then thought maybe I should clean out my mac to make sure I had nothing bad.

But then I saw “MacKeeper” in my applications, and I opened it.

It was scanning and supposedly found “799 bad items.”

I showed my sister and she said it was fake.

So I closed it out and deleted MacKeeper.

Also when I was in MacKeeper it supposedly had a real person chatting.

I thought it was automated because they were typing SO fast.

A sentence with like 30 words took about 5 seconds to type in the chat.

I just wanted to ask if MacKeeper was good or bad.

Antivirus or Virus?

It is extremely bad. It is far worst then anything it claims it will protect you against. My suggestion is to uninstall it using the procedure provided by the developers. If you don’t use that procedure, you will have bits and pieces of it through out your operating system.ReplyHelpful Thread reply – more optionsUser profile for user: LimnosLimnosUser level:Level 10(121,565 points)macOSSpeciality level out of ten: 1

You need to explain clearly what is going on here. Remember we can’t see your machine.ReplyHelpful Thread reply – more optionsUser profile for user: Allan EckertAllan EckertUser level:Level 9(79,449 points)macOSSpeciality level out of ten: 1

Rather then attempting to highjack this thread, you really should start your own thread and explain exactly what problem you are having with your Mac there.

One suggestion I will give you now is to uninstall MacKeeper.ReplyHelpful Thread reply – more options
