ike the road system in general. especially in new york city. how i hate driving in new york city. somehow my registration and insurance card (both organized into single folder for easy presentation to patrol pigs) went missing. must’ve been recently, i don’t usually pay attention to these things. i should just stick a white flag to that back of the yukon daring a policeman to pull me over. that’d probably be fun. and ultimately dangerous. but aren’t all worthwhile things?
the elimination of compulsory car insurance would really make the roads safer (despite what they’ll have you believe. don’t give in to the sex appeal of that ever-perky ‘progressive’ ad lady. she’s designed to appeal to your most base sexual/consumer instincts). i’d think a logical person would drive more safely if he was uninsured since the consequences are more dire in the case of an accident. i know the rationale is that another driver may shoulder the burden of repairs for an accident that wasn’t his fault if the culprit is uninsured and doesn’t have enough money to handle his repairs. i say leave it to the government to compensate these victims if the culprit can’t pay up. (one of the few cases i’d actually argue for MORE government spending). but then the culprit becomes a slave to the state until he fulfills twice the value of repair process for the damage done (through hard labor of course. if it’s an attractive young woman, i’m sure a deal could be worked out. they always are)
