SUNSET DINER

greenbrook NJ

(off route 22)

“EAT AT JOE’S”

cheryl keeps suggesting we eat here…
(just to bust my balls)

as in (average) joe’s diner…

it’s on the other side of route 1…

and there are outdoor tables…

“MICHAEL’S DINER”

lawrenceville NJ

so i return to michael’s diner…

i sit at the counter and drink water

chat with the workers

i fixate on a waitress

we smoke several cigarettes outside together

she’s a 33-year-old single mother from trenton

(a mediocre blonde chick with a juicy ass)

the diner closes @ 11pm

she leaves to “get pills”

she claims that the rest of the staff was only nice to me because “i was with her”

i give her my #…she claims that she dials it (but i never get the call)…she says she’ll call me in 20 minutes and we’ll do the pills in my motel room…

but my phone dies once i return to the room…

closed due to “inclement weather”

under-the-table dishwasher job @ michael’s diner

then i foolishly spent over $10 on a 3-egg swiss cheese / ham / onion omelette + hash browns and a pepsi at michael’s diner ’round 10:30pm

loaded it up with salt / pepper / ketchup

the pepsi tasted like a diet soda…

i was going to order from michael’s diner but they were just closing at 11pm…that would’ve saved me some money…

after i cleaned up my act i decided not to reload on beer…

because i was going through the 12-pack too fast…i finished organizing the “jogajungle.com” video clips as i listed to “wtf with marc maron” podcasts on my blackberry…then the withdrawals started kicking in…i decided to order a omelette and hash browns from the diner around 9:30pm…a cute new waitress gave me my order…

i wolfed down the meal and decided to hit the sack ’round 10pm…there wasn’t much more i was going to accomplish at that point…but insomnia struck hard…i ended up staying up all night in an extremely horny state…i should’ve just gone to karaoke night at the ivy inn…instead i jacked off twice and watched way too much porn on the blackberry…i got some very sporadic sleep before noon but i’m still tired and cranky…and the nigger is still next door talking loudly on his cellphone in that nasty accent…

“OCEAN BAY DINER”

bad reviews!

ocean avenue is part of route 35

(just bear right)

.

(a diner is a small restaurant found predominantly in the Northeastern United States and Midwestern United States, as well as in other parts of the US, Canada, and parts of Western Europe and ‘lebanon’)

Diners offer a wide range of foods, mostly American cuisine, a casual atmosphere, and, characteristically, a combination of booths served by a waitstaff and a long sit-down counter with direct service, in the smallest simply by a cook. Many diners have extended hours, and some along highways and areas with significant shift work may stay open 24 hours.

Even today many diners share an archetypal exterior form. Some of the earliest were converted rail cars, retaining their streamlined structure and interior fittings. From the 1920s to the 1940s, diners, by then commonly known as “lunch cars”, were usually prefabricated in factories like modern mobile homes and delivered on site with only the utilities needing to be connected. As a result, many early diners were typically small and narrow in order to fit onto a rail car or truck. This small footprint also allowed them to be fitted into tiny and relatively inexpensive lots that otherwise were unable to support a larger enterprise. Diners were historically small businesses operated by the owner, with some presence of restaurant chains evolving over time.

Diners typically serve staples of American cuisine such as hamburgers, french fries, club sandwiches, and other simple, quickly cooked, and inexpensive fare, such as meatloaf. Much of the food is grilled, as early diners were based around a gas-fueled flat-top. Coffee is a diner staple. Diners often serve hand-blended milkshakes and desserts such as pies, which are typically displayed in a glass case. Comfort food cuisine draws heavily from, and is deeply rooted in, traditional diner fare.

Classic American diners often have an exterior layer of stainless steel siding—a feature unique to diner architecture.

In some cases, diners share nostalgic, retro style features also found in some restored drive-ins and old movie theatres.

(lawrence NJ)

i am told that there is an applebee’s down route 1

(i try my best to find a back road route to applebee’s)

no dice

i’m almost hit by cars

my sneakers and jeans are soaked…

i give up on applebee’s…

then we went to applebees

i got a cowboy burger

we shared beer pretzels and appetizer sampler

i got 2 long island iced teas and a heineken

went to applebee’s with cheryl

i ordered a coke (which once again tasted like diet) and a coffee

same black woman as waitress from last week

ordered same old appetizer samper
(quesadillas / mild boneless buffalo wings / mozzarella sticks / nachos and spinach+cheese dip)

cheryl thought it was too much (though we ate it all)

and the same medium rare cowboy burger with fries

ordered another coke but didn’t drink it

drank a water instead

26 JUNE 2014:

same black waitress…

this time there was a device on the table so cheryl could swipe credit card without waiting for the waitress to give check and come back with credit card…this is the first time i saw this in action…

i got my usual…

coke / water / coffee

appetizer sampler

cowboy burger medium rare

(and i took home the leftovers)
