(at parent-teacher conference she told them i was good with facts but lacked “creativity”)
(like the rectangle mouse body in preschool)
(or being judged for not being able to dribble a basketball)
(like missus clark telling my parents:
(“he’s bright…but he’s so not a genius”)
(because i dubbed myself a “genius” in a writing assignment)
(remember report cards?)
(they were so exciting to me)
(up until my senior year of HS)
(when i’d already been accepted to harvard)
