Speed up your workflow with groups in your digital audio workstation.

Grouping tracks in Pro Tools (or any DAW) lets you edit and mix tracks in less time by making changes to multiple tracks simultaneously.

When you’re creating music or editing audio, you don’t want anything getting in the way of your creative flow.

Ideally, the delay between an idea coming into your head and you putting that idea into action needs to be as small as possible.

So why make ten level adjustments if you only need to make one?!

.

There are a ton of useful ways to use groups in your DAW, for example –

Group your drums together once you’ve got the balance right, and you’ll be able to bring the drums up and down as a whole.

Group dual miked instruments together so you don’t have to pan both mics separately

(if they’re staying positioned together).

All of the vocal tracks can be grouped to have the ability to quickly mute them for an instrumental mix
