*use ‘selector tool’ to place ‘edit cursor’ at a specific location* —>

*the ‘edit cursor’ is the ‘blinking white vertical line’*

*if you click into a track, the ‘edit cursor’ moves to that location in the track*

*hold down [SHIFT] + click into other tracks to extend the ‘edit cursor’ to those tracks*

*same rule applies for ‘rulers’*

*click on the ‘bars/beats ruler’ to extend ‘edit cursor’ to all tracks* —>

*the ‘play start marker’ is the ‘upside down blue arrow’ in the ‘bars/beats ruler’* —>

*change position of ‘play start marker’ by clicking into desired horizontal point in ‘bars/beats ruler’*

(make selection by shift-clicking ‘bars/beats ruler’ to desired ‘endpoint’ based on starting position)

*when ‘link timeline + edit selection button’ is on, the ‘edit cursor’ follows the ‘play start marker’* —>

*red playhead only shows in the ‘rulers’*
