The temperature of tap water is dependent on many, many different factors.
If the water is delivered from a well and is maintained at a constant ground temperature, then it is generally around 50–55 degrees.
However, if your water is derived from surface water (lake or river), the temperature can be considerably warmer in the summer and colder in the winter.
The variables are time and location.
For surface water, your proximity to the water plant, the length of time it is in the water main (underground) and/or water storage tank, and the depth of the water main will impact the temperature.
So the temperature of tap water could vary by as much as 20 degrees seasonally.
Obviously, the length of time the water spends in the pipes in your warm home will also impact its temperature.
