To measure a man’s neck for clothing, you can use a tape measure to find the circumference of the neck at the base, where the collar would sit

Steps

Stand up straight and relax your shoulders.

Position the tape measure around the base of your neck, just below your Adam’s apple.

Wrap the tape measure around your neck, keeping it level and resting lightly on your skin.

Bring the tape measure together at the front of your neck.

Note the measurement in inches

Tips

Leave a finger or two of space between your neck and the tape measure.

Repeat the measurement a few times to ensure accuracy.

Round up to the nearest half inch for comfort.

Measure on bare skin, not over clothing.

Use the right units for the clothing brand you’re buying from.

You can use your neck measurement to find the equivalent size in ready-to-wear clothing.
