To measure your shoulders for men’s clothes, stand up straight with relaxed shoulders, locate the bony protrusion at the top of each shoulder (the acromion process), and using a measuring tape, measure the straight line across your back from one acromion process to the other, following the natural curve of your shoulders

ensure the tape measure is level and not pulled too tight

.

Key points to remember:

Find the right spot:

Locate the acromion process, the bony bump at the top of your shoulder, where the shoulder meets the arm

.

Measure across the back:

Stretch the tape measure from one shoulder point to the other, across your back

.

Follow the curve:

Let the tape measure gently curve along the natural contour of your shoulders,

don’t pull it straight across

.

Ask for help

It’s usually easier to have someone else measure you to ensure accuracy
