The “Scan Documents” feature in the Files app lets you use your iPhone’s camera to turn physical paper documents into digital PDF files, which are then saved directly in the Files app for easy organization.
This is a built-in, integrated tool that allows you to scan multi-page documents and perform basic editing like cropping, rotating, and applying filters, all before saving them as a single file
How to scan documents in the Files app
Open the Files app. [1]
Tap Browse in the lower-right corner. [1]
Navigate to the folder where you want to save the document. You can tap On My iPhone or an iCloud location. [1, 5, 6, 7]
Swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal the action menu and tap Scan Documents. [1]
Position the document on a flat surface and line it up within the camera’s viewfinder. [1]
The scan will either happen automatically in “Auto mode” or you can tap the shutter button in “Manual mode”. [8]
