(as of the ‘2010 United States Census’, the borough’s population was 1,759, reflecting a decline of 47 (-2.6%) from the 1,806 counted in the ‘2000 Census’, which had in turn increased by 324 (+21.9%) from the 1,482 counted in the ‘1990 Census’)
(it is the tenth-smallest municipality in land area in New Jersey)
(‘Lake Como’ was originally formed as the borough of South Belmar by an act of the ‘New Jersey Legislature’ on 12 March 1924, from portions of ‘Wall Township’, subject to the results of a referendum held on 6 May 1924)
(on ‘2 november 2004’, voters in the borough approved changing the locality’s name to ‘lake como’, which became effective as of ‘4 january 2005’)
