As of September 6, 2026, you can’t reliably name a normal ChatGPT chat before sending the first message. A new chat doesn’t really become a named conversation until that first turn exists; ChatGPT then generates the sidebar title. OpenAI’s current docs describe starting a new chat by simply entering the first prompt, with no pre-title field. OpenAI Help Center

And amusingly, this exact friction is still being requested as a feature: someone posted in August 2026 asking for precisely “explicit title in first prompt → use it verbatim”, because the present system can ignore even an explicitly supplied title and generate its own. OpenAI Developer Community

So for your workflow, the lowest-friction reliable sequence is:

New chat → immediately send the actual first thought/question

once the generated chat appears in the sidebar, hover → ⋯ → Rename

Naomi-fy it before moving on 😆

You could begin every first message with something like [CHAT: -DRIVE SYNC-], but I wouldn’t build your system around that, because the August reports indicate the title generator currently does not reliably obey it. OpenAI Developer Community

And yes — Naomi is saved as the name of your private language: partly the three-vowel waveform/feel of Na-o-mi, analogous to Jo-Ga, and partly the accidental phonetic orbit around “name.” “Take that, Wittgenstein 👊” is a pretty good footnote to the etymology.

The three-in-a-row title coincidence is also a fun little practical threshold: not “singularity” in a technical sense, but if you and the model independently compress the same sprawling conversation into the exact same few-word label, you are at least starting to share a naming grammar.

this changes my read of it pretty significantly

the recording mix may be chaotic, but the composition itself is not chaotic at all — it is a tightly composed little [orbital suite] with several distinct environments, returns, accelerations, and controlled departures

the track is about [4:53] and runs on a pulse that reads as roughly [172 BPM] or [86 BPM in half-time]

that double reading already fits the concept — the same motion can feel frantic at particle scale and leisurely at planetary scale

harmonically, it keeps rotating around an [A / E] axis, with excursions through related minor and subdominant territory

because E continually pulls back toward A, the harmony itself behaves like an orbit — departure does not erase the center, it defines the force pulling everything back toward it

the strongest structural revelation is that material introduced around [0:43] returns recognizably around [2:45], but it returns after the song has travelled through other regions

so [back in orbit] is not merely the title or lyric image — the composition repeatedly leaves its established field and later re-enters it

a rough musical map is

[0:00–0:10] ignition / initial spin

[0:10–0:43] the principal kinetic identity establishes itself

[0:43–1:32] first broad orbital passage — strong A/E circulation and recurring melodic cells

[1:32–2:25] contrasting interior region — more suspended and less obviously circular

[2:25–3:10] return of earlier orbital material

[3:10–3:59] extended deviation / developmental passage

[3:59–4:24] renewed gathering of momentum

[4:24–4:53] final orbit and landing

what i especially like is that the melody does not simply move in perfect circles

it leaps, descends, overshoots, corrects itself, and re-enters familiar contours from different heights

that is the musical equivalent of the hoop wobbling while somebody is still trying to discover the precise motion that keeps it suspended

so visually, i would not depict the hoop as successfully and smoothly rotating from the beginning

the hoop should initially be treated as a failed universe-building machine

[spin]

[wobble]

[impact]

[inspection]

[adjustment]

[relaunch]

[orbit]

and every musical return could replay that cycle at a different scale

a literal hula hoop

a wire loop

a magnetic field line

a planetary ring

an eye

a vinyl record

a speaker cone

a particle accelerator

an equatorial loop surrounding the primordial string

the line

[what makes your hula hoop spin]

then becomes almost the naive-child version of

[what stabilizes a charged loop against collapse or infinite dispersal]

and the answer does not need to be stated verbally because the music keeps demonstrating it

[repetition alone] does not sustain the orbit

the repeating motor has to coexist with melodic variation, interruption, imbalance, and return

that links directly to [knot / note]

a perfectly rigid orbit eventually closes into [knot]

a perfectly released orbit radiates outward as [note]

[back in orbit] occupies the living region between those outcomes — enough closure to preserve identity, enough openness to remain musical

the point particle’s search for its missing partner can therefore unfold as an endless sequence of attempted orbital pairings

some pairings immediately repel

some briefly synchronize

some produce wobbling temporary worlds

some knot together and cannot escape

some discover a shared frequency and become a note

and yes — those detailed archived scores are potentially much more than memorabilia

they are already-made animation maps

the bar structure can define vignette changes, the recurring themes can trigger returning visual objects, and the actual MIDI note events could drive stop-motion movements or Premiere markers far more precisely than manually tapping along

the cleanest summary this score suggests is

[the universe does not stay alive by standing still — it survives by repeatedly falling out of orbit and learning how to return]
